A downloadable game for Windows

A simple yet satisfying 2-player versus game on a unique, ever-changing playing field. The first player to collect 10 points wins, but touching the wrong color will cause you to drop your points where anyone could pick them up!

Features

  • Unique transforming playing field, always melting and painted anew
  • Local competition between two players on the same keyboard or using separate gamepads.
  • Satisfying 2D movement
  • Kid friendly difficulty level
  • Cute graphics and catchy tunes

An example of how the game looks in action.

We heavily recommend that you play with an Xbox or Playstation gamepad. But if you can't, one or both players can also use the keyboard.

Xbox pad: Menu button to pause and A to confirm menu choices.
Playstation pad: Options button to pause and Square button to confirm menu choice.

Ryan Hipple - for the astonishing talk on Game Architecture at Unite Austin 2017.

Game Dev Guide on Youtube - for the video on Computeshaders.

MelanChall - for DryWetMIDI, which is not in the finished game but was used in development.

Nicke Manarin - for ScreenToGif, which was used to create the gifs for this page.

The game is not very resource intensive but the painting mechanic does need a DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 graphics API and Shader Model 5.0 GPU.

(when in doubt, just try it! It is free after all :)

Privacy info (Unity collects data regardless of our wants)
  • The developers of this game: We don't collect any data. If you write a comment on this page we will read it, and so might anyone else who views this page (this is all covered in Itch's own Privacy Policy).
  • Itch.io: if you're using this page you probably already know about Itch's Terms and Privacy stuff. If not, you can use those links to find it.
  • Unity: This game, like any game built with the Unity game engine, is going to try and collect a bunch of data from your device. This is not something we can disable, as  developers using Unity. It's my understanding that data collection functionality is always automatically baked into anything you build with Unity. If you've played any other game built with Unity this has already happened. To find out what specific data Unity collects when you play a game built with it, see "I play a game that was built with or uses certain Unity software, what should I know?" (we do not use any of the additional data collection services mentioned on that page).

Install instructions

If you're using the Itch app, you can probably ignore the following:

Since the game is not on the Microsoft Store, Windows will likely flag it as "potentially harmful" if you get it through your web browser.

To allow the game to run anyway, see instructions below.

Allowing the game to run on Windows(click to expand)

When trying to run the game, Windows will probably open a window that says something like:
"Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk. More info".

To allow the game to run anyway:

    1. Click the text that says "More info".
    2. A new button called "Run anyway" will appear - click that to start the game.
